Dipped cords for reinforcing V-belts

2016-2-15      View:
Dipped cords made of Polyester/Aramid can be manufactured in various constructions and finishes. They primarily serve the purpose of reinforcing V-belts, which are predominantly used in the automotive industry, but also occasionally find applications in the mechanical and domestic appliances industry (eg: in washing machines, tumble driers etc.). The dipped cords are made of High Modulus Low Shrinkage yarns to ensure the belts maintain their dimensional stability when being subjected to high working stresses over long periods of time. All cords are RFL coated to ensure an excellent adhesion to the rubber substrate.  As a dynamic organisation we continuously strive to develop and customize new products for our customers, while streamlining our existing internal processes. We understand that innovation and development are cornerstones of long-term growth and progress. Highlighted below are some of our latest developments. Developed dipped Aramid cords (SOFT) for high strength applications, in 1670Dtex/2×3 and 1670Dtex/3×4 constructions. This involved re-configuring our process parameters and preparing appropriate dipping solutions. Identified process parameters to achieve ‘Ultra soft’ and ‘Superior Stiff’ finishes in dipped Polyester cords, from 1×3 to 9×6 constructions. Developed ‘hard-stone’ winding capabilities, for ultra tight packing of dipped cords (Aramid, Polyester, PVA, Rayon) on cheeses, which could be run at higher speeds on braiding machines. Incorporated Electronic Yarn Cleaning (EYC) machines upon auto-winders to ensure only the highest quality of yarn is sent to the dipping process (by photoelectric detection of anomalies). Incorporated Proportional-Integrative-Derivative (PID) controllers in the heating zones to consistently maintain a high degree of temperature accuracy, during the dipping process.
