Reinforcement materials for rubber products

2016-3-30      View:
The bonding between the polyester cords and rubbers are the result of combined action of multiple interfaces. The bonding among these interfaces is completely due to chemical action. The test or using results of the cords reflect the minimum adhesion among those interfaces. The activation effect of non-activated polyester determines the fastness of bonding between the cords and RFL treating layers. The degree of RFL treating and components of rubber products determine the degree of incorporation between the cords and rubber interface. The physical properties of cords are decided by the cords’ intended use and relying on the quality of raw yarns. Their chemical bonding with rubbers is realized by chemically modifying the cords’ surface. Apart from high adhesion between the cords and rubbers, the cords’ physical properties, specifically, the cords’ tension, heat shrinkage and elongation, must be stable, to ensure the stable quality of the end products. Through secondary dipping process, non-activate polyester can be used as reinforcement material for rubber belts and tubes. The process seems simple, but to meet different using demands, a great quantity of difficult work must be done. Not to mention that polyester cords are used as reinforcement material for rubber products for only a few years in China. Only by close cooperation and synchronous development of raw yarn producers, cord producers and cord users can we promote our rubber products to keep pace with international standards.
